A Pilot Project

[How to Join/Submitting Rules] - [Members] - [HDRi info and tutorials] - [Club Gallery] - [Send us a Note]

Okay, well one of the new ideas I've been tinkering with has been a side-feature to our regular monthly submissions. It's tentatively called This Week's Assignment. It's not a contest, and not even a mini-contest. However, it is and opportunity to make an extra submission now and then!

How It Works

Every now and then, we will announce the topic of the assignment, and you will be given a deadline to submit a shot that fits the topic.

Rules

1-You will be allowed only one (1) shot to submit that fits the topic;
2-You must be a current member to submit;
3-The shot, of course, must be HDR.
4-Any and all special criteria for the topic must be followed for your deviation to be submitted.

What's In It For You

Submissions for the assignments will be submitted as the usual collection, and kept up for two (2) weeks after being submitted. It's a chance to get some extra submissions in, but also, to broaden your horizons and try different kinds of shots for a change!

**If anyone has ideas for an assignment topic, send us a note with the subject 'Assignment Idea'**

This Week's Assignment

Topic: 'Today's Forecast'

Deadline: Sunday, July 12, 2009 (@23:59)

Special Criteria:
-Shots must reflect the weather (meteorological conditions) where you are;
-The TITLE of your submission reflects the forecast in your shot;
-One (1) submission per member;
-Submit deviations in note form, with the subject 'Today's Forecast'.

I think putting HDR in its own category would be a horrible idea. That's like saying flash photography or long exposure photography is a style and not just a technique. In my mind if you do an HDR right, you can't even tell its an HDR, which is why I suppose that I can't stand 70% of the pictures posted to this group.
Wow. Now that's quite a bold statement....

It seems that HDR and tone mapping are terms used interchangeably. What about a category strictly for Tone Mapping?
Thanx for adding me ^__^
